What to check before buying
First, the stage of construction and the developer’s paperwork. A completed building and one at foundation stage are entirely different risks, and the price gap between them is the price of that risk. Check the building permit, the land rights and how the developer met deadlines on previous projects.
Second, the real cost after purchase. On top of the price you will pay for a full fit-out, furniture and appliances, and often higher service charges. Third, the surrounding infrastructure: in a new district the school, kindergarten and transport links sometimes arrive after the residents do.
